Photo Journal of Everyday New Orleans

here is some graffiti I found on the way I used to take to work. The other day there was also a smashed TV scattered about the sidewalk here. That's some pretty good performance art, imo.

i could have taken a better picture of this sculpture because I really like it. But I was tired from work and waiting for the ferry to arrive.

miss. river bridge. Other than the ferry, the only way to get across and you need to drive it. Shot taken from on the ferry.

We put up these posts before lunch. They are for a fence for this woman's house. It's always fun to see a project come together. Those are my co-workers- fellow 11-month americorps members.

Hi Tony. Pictures look good. About the pictures, I started an account at photobucket.com -- they automatically resize the image to 1024X768 resolution when you upload them. Then, when I author a blog post, I just copy & paste the image url. That's what worked for me.

Gah! I can't go back to sleep, : )

Good night everyone.

Thanks for the smaller photos. The painting on the side of the building is amazing.

I've seen similar graffiti as the painting on the side of the building... methinks it's the work of old Banksy!

CONFIRMED! It is the work of old Banksy

How cool - That's the first I ever heard of Banksy, but I love his/her (most likely his?) work! That's awesome that Tony noticed it, then you recognized it!

This shall be passed on for generations to come. Three cheers for Banksy!

Yeah it is cool. According to the gallery, Banksy went to New Orleans to do battle with "The Gray Ghost" who has been painting over graffiti with gray paint since 97.

Tony - What news? Did Banksy find his nemesis and defeat him?

there is actually a vote out in the neighborhood I took this picture to Ban the Gray Ghost.
Though sadly, every Banksy I've seen has been grayed up by the ghost and no longer decorate our streets. It's sad, but I think Banksy is losing.
